Do you remember the 21st night of September?
Love was changing the minds of pretenders
While chasing the clouds away

Our hearts were ringing
In the key that our souls were singing.
As we danced in the night,
Remember how the stars stole the night away

Ba de ya – say do you remember
Ba de ya – dancing in September
Ba de ya – never was a cloudy day

Pomplamoose does a good version, but the best is by Earth Wind & Fire.

I had no idea that Barry White helped write this song. Before his big break, he also wrote Doin the Banana Split for the Banana Splits, costumed stars of a Saturday morning kids show my siblings and I used to watch. The best part of their show were the Danger Island live action segments, which starred Jan Michael Vincent as Link, before any of us knew who he was. Uh Oh, Chongo!
