I watched the Biden/Ryan debate last night, and thought Biden dominated. On the Young Turks, most of the cohort agreed except for Eliot Spitzer, who called it a draw. In his Dish live-blog, even nervous Andrew Sullivan called it emphatically for Biden.
So what do I read on the crawl this morning on WBAL, the local NBC affiliate?
“VP Biden and Republican candidate Ryan squabbled over the economy, taxes, Medicare and foreign policy in their only debate last night. After numerous interruptions from Biden, Ryan said Biden was under duress to make up for lost ground.”
Assuming that most people were watching football or baseball instead, the media spins Biden’s strong showing into a non-story, and tries to continue the horse race mentality.
